Hotel Chocolat is a true British success story with annual sales of over £132m. On the back of continued growth, the business is now expanding globally and selected Statement to launch their new US store.
A key reason for selecting Shopify Plus was both speed and scalability. With a race to go-to-market for the key Valentine's Day trading period, and never afraid of a challenge, Statement launched the Hotel Chocolat US store in just six weeks.
An omnichannel approach.
Hotel Chocolat is all about experience, so launching retail stores was a key part of the US expansion. Another reason they selected Shopify Plus was the ability to use Shopify POS, Shopify's tablet driven EPOS solution, in their initial New York stores.
We've worked with Shopify POS since it launched several years ago and were able to advise the business on best practises. Similarly we also advised on which Shopify apps could be best used, such as email marketing, customer loyalty and delivery, to create a truly omni-channel approach.
We appointed Statement to build our US site to support our global expansion, as they are an experienced Shopify Plus partner with expertise in both POS and international projects. In just 6 weeks, Statement worked with the Hotel Chocolat team to deliver this, providing us with a strong foundation to build our US operations in a cost and time effective way.

Shopify Plus has allowed Hotel Chocolat to launch into the US market in a fast and scalable way. The website offers the customer the ability to quickly browse and buy online.
And the use of Shopify's POS solution in-store allows the business to quickly open new locations whilst maintaining a single customer view.
