We worked with the Brooklyn Trading team on a replatforming project and site redesign, helping them to migrate from Magento 1 to Shopify, and to give their site a fresh makeover in the process, ready for the next stage in their growth.
Brooklyn Trading is a retailer selling quality, branded products from DIY tools to homeware, from wallpaper to pet supplies, at discounted prices with popular brands from Stanley to Dulux.
Originally on Magento 1, Brooklyn Trading were experiencing a number of issues, prompting the decision to migrate to a more reliable platform.
The team had doubts regarding the strength and reliability of the Magento 1 platform for quite some time, and invested significant time and money resolving problems with their agency and hosting company whenever an issue arose on site.
With the Magento 1 End-of-Life deadline approaching, the team began looking at alternative options and Shopify was a clear solution for the team due to its ease-of-use, efficiency and reliability.
The general size of the product catalogue made the migration process an important step in the replatforming journey, but implementing a platform such as ChannelAdvisor made product migration a much easier and more efficient task.
Due to the size of the products and the diversity in the product ranges, search and filtering functionalities are incredibly important features for the site. User experience is paramount, and so being able to maintain using a tool such as Klevu as part of the replatforming process has been key.
Brooklyn Trading have seen a highly positive change in their efficiency and productivity since replatforming, and are even looking at growing further and scaling to enterprise platform Shopify Plus at a later stage.
